My Sites, Projects and Follies

MallofMemphis.org

A tribute wiki site to the largest enclosed shopping mall in the United States to ever cease operations.
Proof that the fates have a sense of humor, this site started as a test and has become noted enough to get me interviewed or mentioned by every major newspaper in the Memphis area (Commercial Appeal, Memphis Flyer, Memphis Daily News, Memphis Business Journal) and even discussions with a regional news magazine format TV show.....It has been and continue to be great fun!

    MallMemories.com

    - a directory of malls, both live and dead - the pictures and stories from visitors.

        Forceposterous

        - My Posterous blog - just for the heck of it...

          Look-Up.com

My longest running project and software effort, Look-Up.com has been on the internet long enough to generate 1100 spam messages a day in my inbox. Starting with aviation shareware I wrote when in flight training, today Look-Up is a very popular news and information portal and free blogging site for pilots and plane fans everywhere. Aviation news, pilot information, all things flying!

          Alexa rating of 491,0282918,97330!! :)

            ThePodForce.com

Back when podcasting was new I decided I wanted to try it out. I never planned on being a reporter type but wanted to learn the technology and it was a cool way to be listed as an "Artist" in iTunes!!

I will be posting the few episodes I did - embarrassing as they are. In the meantime, several sites still have them including:

            http://www.podarchive.com/Podcast/the_pod_force_2487/

I also got some notice from other sites for my review of a Blackberry phone. Who knew!

            http://www.bbhub.com/2005/10/07/doug-digs-the-blackberry-7100g-but-says-...

In the end, I learned how it worked, had fun and then unplugged my USB microphone - for now......
