Locks of Love

The best computer people are always a little out of step with the real world.....everybody knows that. Aging does more to bring them in line than any social or corporate expectations. Case in point.....not exactly a corporate poster boy to begin with.

Longish but conforming rebel

I have twin daughters - 8 years of skill at making the house shake as they run screaming from room to room, looking for a lost cat we never even had. Typical hellions. But when a class mate of theirs became a patient at St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, it was a sobering reminder of why we must not take such gifts for granted.

During this time, the kids and the parents became aware of "Locks of Love" - an organization which makes wigs for kids who not only have to suffer the treatments of childhood cancer, but they have to suffer the cruel remarks and behavior of other kids. The kids wanted to donate some hair - seem like a good idea so the dad did too. We're still on track - and its a good lesson. Based on the stares, you'd think people have never seen an aging hippy before! lol. :)

Just plain ole rebel
